ERPT

The default unit that all Officers start in. Responsible for Emergency Response policing and responding to incidents.

CID

The Criminal Investigation Department is responsible for investigating serious and complex crimes that go beyond routine policing. Detectives within CID handle cases such as homicide, serious assaults, sexual offences, high-value burglaries, and large-scale fraud. They gather and analyse evidence, interview witnesses and suspects, and build cases to be prosecuted in court. CID officers are plainclothes investigators with specialist training in crime scene management and criminal procedure.

MO19

MO19 provides armed response and specialist firearms support across the force area. Officers within MO19 are trained to manage incidents involving firearms or other lethal threats, including armed standoffs, vehicle intercepts, and planned firearms warrants. They operate Armed Response Vehicles (ARVs) for rapid deployment and deliver tactical advice to incident commanders. MO19 plays a crucial role in protecting the public from armed crime.

RPU

The Roads Policing Unit focuses on enforcing traffic laws, reducing road casualties, and tackling criminality on the road network. RPU officers conduct high-visibility patrols, manage serious road traffic collisions, and pursue offenders using vehicles for crime, such as drug transport or theft. They are trained in advanced driving, tactical pursuit, and accident investigation. The unit works to keep roads safe while disrupting organised crime that relies on vehicle movement..
